Webinar | Evaluation of James' Place's therapeutic intervention for men in suicidal crisis

On 23 November 2021, James' Place hosted its second independent evaluation in an online event to highlight its work in helping men out of a suicidal crisis.

The webinar featured presentations from Clare Milford Haven (James' Place Co-Founder and Trustee), Ellen O'Donoghue (CEO) and Jane Boland (Clinical Lead and Head of James' Place Liverpool) and Dr Pooja Saini (Liverpool John Moores University).

The report was composed by Liverpool John Moores University and can be accessed in full via the link below.

Value of James' Place

The findings from the report showed that James’ Place service was “just as effective, if not more, for men attending in distress during the pandemic”.

James‘ Place uses a unique clinical intervention model, the impact of which was demonstrated though the improved Core OM scores of those completing their intervention.

The report findings state: “Outcomes identified clearly demonstrate that James’ Place is making a life-changing difference to individuals, their families, their communities and the wider system”.

The service also adapted well to the changes brought on by the pandemic, amending its service accordingly without compromising any of its ability to offer help to men in crisis.
