World Suicide Prevention Day, 10th September 2024
James' Place
03/09/24
World Suicide Prevention Day takes place on Tuesday 10th September. Can you help us raise awareness by sharing our message? We know that many men who die by suicide have made a plan to end their life. We want to let men in London, the North East and the North West know that if they have made a plan, have recently tried to take their own life, and/or are experiencing intense and distressing suicidal thoughts, we can help them make a different plan.
Ask
We want to encourage you to act if you are worried about someone. Don’t be afraid to ask directly: Are you feeling suicidal? Do you have a plan to end your life? Asking these questions will NOT put the idea in someone’s head. If they say yes, you can look for help here.
Share
You can download our social assets and other resources here or simply reshare our social media posts amongst your followers and networks. If you can help us give out flyers or put up posters on noticeboards in your local area please email us at communications@jamesplace.org.uk
Donate
We rely entirely on charitable donations to run our centres and to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis. Every pound is incredibly important to us. If you would like to make a donation to support our work, please click here. We are currently fundraising to open a fourth centre in Birmingham as well as keep our existing centres running.
