James' Place Offers Supporters Group To Those Helping Men In Suicidal Crisis
James' Place
02/11/21
James’ Place encourages every man using our service to enlist the help of a trusted friend or family member. We know that the more people we engage in the care of a suicidal man the more likely it is that we will have a positive outcome.
We have long been committed to the voice and experience of those supporters but are now able to offer some practical and emotional support to the people who are supporting men through the suicidal crisis.
We will be offering a weekly support group to all adults who are supporting a man who is currently engaged in our intervention. The groups will give attendees the chance to talk to others who are sharing their experience.
We will also have team members around to offer information about James’ Place and signposting advice.
Our supporters group will offer you the chance to meet people who are sharing the same journey.
We know how difficult it is when someone you care about encounters a suicidal crisis. We believe that nobody should go through this alone.
Our group will offer a warm and welcoming space where you can meet and connect with other people who are also supporters of men engaging in our intervention.
We will offer short talks on topics we hope you will find helpful, signpost you to useful resources and services, and do our best to help you get the support you deserve.
We will also provide refreshments throughout.
The group will take place every Wednesday between 6pm-7pm at our Liverpool centre, 50 Catharine Street, L8 7NG.
Please email communications@jamesplace.org.uk for more details on how to join and to be part of our Facebook group.
