Today the Government has launched a call for evidence to inform England’s first ever men’s health strategy.
Our Chief Executive Ellen O’Donoghue said “We’re pleased to see suicide prevention recognised as a key part of a future Men’s Health Strategy and will continue to share our knowledge on what works in combating male suicide, which we have learnt from providing free, life-saving therapy to over 3,100 men to date at our three suicide prevention centres. We hope this strategy will ultimately lead to a concerted effort to address health inequities, in particular the significant geographical and social factors affecting male suicide. We must do all we can to prevent the thousands of deaths by suicide each year.”
We would encourage men of all ages to share their views by 17 July on the Department of Health and Social Care website.
