Response to near to Real Time Suspected Suicide Surveillance (nRTSSS) data

Responding to new near to Real Time Suspected Suicide Surveillance (nRTSSS) data released by the Office for Health Improvements and Disparities Jane Boland, Clinical Lead at James’ Place said:

“Although these figures make difficult reading, we are pleased that we now have access to near to real-time figures for deaths by suicide. This will help to identify any patterns and trends in particular groups earlier. There is an urgent need for appropriate, well-resourced, easy to access and tailored support across the country. At James’ Place we offer free, life-saving treatment to suicidal men in London, the North West and from early next year, the North East. We believe every suicide is preventable and would urge men in those areas to reach out to us for help.”
